Concept Story
“Lean In” is an exploration and realisation of the years I spent working in my fabulous international banking industry.
The years I had were exciting, rewarding and inspiring. During the years which I learnt through the challenges and opportunities given to me, and grew into who I am today, I learnt the importance of believing in myself and the values I could create for the greater audience. No matter you are a male or female, an introvert or extrovert, there is always a role in this world that you can shine and make a positive impact. Leaning in does not only mean you always need to be assertive in a workplace, but it means taking the courage and initiative to walk towards what matters to you, and be confident in being part of what makes a difference in your environment and take a lead in it.
The colours and patterns I use here are my interpretation and expression of my experience in the past seven years. This is a part of the three abstract paintings in the series, “My Corporate Life”.
